Kessel Spotlight: Ed Shults of Warren

Monday Mar 2, 2020

One of 2018/2019’s major projects was the construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art dual dealership and service center that is now home to Ed Shults of Warren.

This design-build, 31,015 sq. ft. pre-engineered Butler building includes a 2,340 sq. ft. parts mezzanine.  The dual dealership shares a service area but each brand has its own propitiatory features, entry elements and identity. Other features include drive-in service lanes, a large service area for up to 22 vehicles, an automated carwash bay and individual child-friendly lounges. The dealership handles Subaru, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles as well as a complete inventory of used vehicles.

This Butler building required 233,656 pounds of pre-engineered steel and is complete with Butler’s MR-24 roof and R-30 insulation. Prior to construction, the site required significant relation of 4,600 cubic yards of wetlands with total site excavation of 2,457 cubic yards. The payment alone covered 88,000 square feet. One unique feature of this Butler building is the structural support of the exterior composite wall system and structural curtain wall windows.

The project was completed in April 2019 and is the sixth dealership Kessel has built for this customer to date.
